At Anna Seward, we strive to support all children to enable them to achieve well at school. In order to do this, many steps are taken to support them through their learning journey. Quality first teaching is vital; however for some children there are occasions when further additional support may be needed to help them achieve.
All staff take responsibility for inclusion with support from our ATLP Hub SENCo; Michelle Spires.
We ensure high quality provision for pupils who have any of the following needs and seek regular training and expert advice to ensure we are meeting the needs of all pupils.
|Cognition and learning||Children who find learning, thinking and understanding harder than most other pupils|
|Communication and Interaction||Children who find it difficult to interact with others and the world around them|
|Social, emotional and mental health difficulties||Children who find it difficult to manage their emotions and behaviour in a way that affects their everyday life|
|Sensory and/or physical needs||Children who have a disability that may make it difficult for them to manage their everyday life without changes to the physical environment or support through a range of personalised resources.|
We believe that early identification is essential in ensuring that pupils receive the right support at the right time. In line with the SEND Code of Practice, Anna Seward, takes a ‘Graduated Approach’ to identifying additional needs of the pupil and work together with parents/carers at all stages.
