PTA Finances
We’re excited to share an update on the finances and fundraising efforts of our PTA since its formation.
Income
Since the PTA was officially established in October 2023, we’ve worked hard to raise funds to support the school community. By the end of our financial year March 2025, we had successfully raised a total of £5,366. This income was generated through a range of fun and engaging events, which were only made possible by the fantastic support of parents, carers, teachers, and the wider school community.
Here’s a breakdown of the income raised from each event:
- Bunny Bingo – £75
- Halloween Disco – £192
- Summer Fete – £2,163
- Valentine’s Disco – £405
- Wreath Night – £2,265
- Other Contributions and Activities – £267
Thanks to the generous support we’ve received, we were able to retain £2,698 in funds at the close of March 2025, which has helped us to plan for future events and projects.
How Funds Have Been Used
The funds raised by the PTA have been reinvested directly into activities and resources that benefit all the children at the school. Not only have we hosted several events that have brought joy and a sense of celebration to pupils, but we’ve also been able to invest in key improvements to the school environment.
Some of the highlights include:
• Funding a beautiful new playhouse for the Year One playground, giving children a dedicated space to explore, imagine, and play.
• Purchasing a variety of playground games and equipment to enhance break times, making outdoor play more engaging and inclusive for all year groups.
These improvements have helped create a more vibrant and stimulating environment for the children and contribute to their wellbeing and social development.
Plans and Goals for the 2025/26 Financial Year
As we move into the financial year 2025/26, the PTA has set an ambitious but achievable fundraising target of £5,000. Reaching this goal is a key milestone for us, as it will allow the PTA to apply for charity status.
Achieving charity status brings many benefits, including the ability to recover VAT on eligible purchases and access a wider range of grants and funding opportunities. This will significantly increase the impact we can have in supporting the school and enhancing the experience of every pupil.
We’re pleased to report that, as of May 2025, we have already raised £1,525, which puts us in a strong position as we head into the summer term.
Projects Already Funded in 2025/26
We’ve already been able to support several exciting initiatives this year, including:
• Nature Ninjas Project – £92
This wonderful initiative encourages children to develop a greater appreciation for the natural world and understand the importance of protecting the environment. It’s been a great way to connect learning with real-world experiences.
• Burntwood Alpacas animal Experience – £200
This summer term, every class will have the opportunity to meet and interact with a number of small animals! This fun and memorable experience will be both educational and enjoyable, allowing children to learn about animals in a hands-on way.
Planned Events and Financial Commitments for the Year Ahead
We have a full calendar of exciting events planned for the remainder of the 2025/26 school year. Below is a summary of our planned events for the remainder of the coming financial year:
